Network Security Fundamentals

This course is an introduction to Network Security intended for the new Security Professional. Different threat agents, malicious tools and scenarios will be discussed and demonstrated along with how the risks may be mitigated using policies/procedures and technology solutions. Next, the technology solutions will be reviewed including, but not limited to, security architecture, IDS/IPS, VPN's and email encryption as well as solutions for the desktop.

Lab

The lab will consist of case studies in which students will have to analyze a specific security-related issue and report to management on possible mitigation strategies. The solutions to all case studies will be presented and discussed as a group.
